I just got back from the vet. My big old dog , "Big Loo" had an ultrasound this morning and they confirmed that she has an insulin creating tumor on her pancreas. What I thought was just her arthritis was actually hypoglycemia from the tumor that makes her muscles weak. She is beyond the point of surgery, and is on borrowed time, so she will be taking prednisone to control the hypoglycemia, hopefully shrink the tumor, and help her old body. Luckily she still loves to go on walks, has a strong bark, and most especially loves all the extra attention.
