This last week has been more of a get things done week then anything else. I got my school books, had my car tuned-up, paid almost all my bills, and spent as little money as possible. This last Friday I took my little dog to the vet. I will call my little dog Winky in this blog because she looks alot like Winky in "Best In Show". She has lost 3lbs. in 2 months and the vet was very impressed and said, "it is like me losing 20lbs". Now just 5lbs. to go. Winky has allergies and like most dogs with allergies she gets itchy skin. The vet suggested benadryl and I picked up some generic benadryl at the store. My big dog who I will refer to as Big Loo(for obvious reasons to me) in this blog has allergies too, but unlike most dogs she gets the sneezies. Yesterday I gave them both the benadryl and we all layed down under the ceiling fan for a mid-afternoon nap. Feeling like a mom giving her kids dramamine before a trip, more for me, than for them. What a calm came over the place. Now only if the kitty, who I will refer to as Crazy in this blog, could have some too. Yesterday I took a late nite trip to the store, in the produce section I saw something called Grapple(TM). I thought this might be a new hybrid and/or a genetically altered fruit. It cost $4.99 for 4, so I decided it wasn't a good day to try it. When I got home I looked it up online and it was disappointing. A Grapple is an apple that is infused with grape juice. Last week I watched "Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory". A classic children's movie. I have extremely mixed feelings about a upcoming remake of this movie. In my time off I did get to the impressive teapot exhibit at the the uptown Mint Museum and while I was uptown I stopped at the big library to do a little genealogy research, since I didn't have any of my paperwork with me, I didn't get very far. I also saw Shrek II for free, and got a free CD of my vet's band.

P.S. I would like to be cloned.

Don't call my dog fat!

I was out walking my dog this evening. Someone who lives in my complex was arriving home and said to me your big dog has gotten BIG(FAT)." She used to be skinny but now she is BIG". My big dog has not been skinny since she was 1. She is now a senior dog. For six months she was on special food for medical condition, and she gained 14lbs on it. She is on lean food now and has lost some weight, although I haven't been able to walk her as much since I had the ankle injury. She now has a waistline again or an indentation as a reminder of the girlish figure she once had.

Will I Survive

I registered for a class, and it will be starting at the end of May. I finally paid off the big dog's surgery, and am awaiting word on a loan so that I can take care of my teeth. I want to borrow the money and pay it back within 3 months. If I can pay it back in that time I will not have to pay any interest. I have learned from many past mistakes, and if it can be avoided never put anything on a credit card, because you will be paying on it for many years and many times over. I have been trying to think of more free things to do and I have somewhat decided to do without my cable for a little while. How will I survive without the Weather Channel?, Discovery, BRAVO. Although I have been so busy doing free things or low cost things like the $1.50 movie. This last week I attended another workshop on dog food at the big library that is close to my house. Upcoming free things for me, a teapot exhibit at the Mint Museum that is free on Tuesday mornings-- and a friend is going to give me one of their parking tokens so I can park free too. A movie preview of Shrek II! A free DVD rental that I got by thru one of my label saving offers. Maybe getting rid of the distraction of my beloved cable will be good for me when I take my class. I hope it's not going to be like the old day's before I had cable. I am somewhat of a night person and the only thing back then on regular TV in the wee hours was infomercials. I have watched the Hair Club For Men for more times than anyone could imagine.

Saturday night I went out to see a band with my friend Maria. We went to see them because she used to work at a bookstore with one of the members of the band. The band had an opening act that I really liked . Their name is Gold Coast.

ooooooooh...Hugh Jackman on " Inside The Actors Studio", tonite at 8 on BRAVO.

Where have all the dandelions gone? I was just watching TV,and there was a weed commercial showing a weed killer being placed on a dandelion. That stuff must really work, because I can't remember the last time I saw a dandelion. As a child I thought they were beautiful flowers.
My mom used to have have this saying on a needlepoint in our dining room.
"Once in a golden hour I cast to earth a seed, up there came a flower, the people said a weed". I hope I got that right , I am writing this from memory.
